Buying tax lien certificates at auction does not mean you have bought property rights

Posted by · 1 Comment

Tax delinquent investing is not as scary as you think it would be. When you go to an auction sale for tax lien properties you must make certain that you have money in a form of a cashier's check. The government, irrespective of what goes on with the stock market, rising prices, recession or bank rates of interest, securitizes & guarantees the extremely favorable rates of return of tax lien certificates. Buying certificates does not mean you have bought property rights, this means you have bought the rights to collect back taxes due plus an interest charge. Most states offer less than 50% your investment may be safe because it is secured with real property. . Remember the tax lien auctioneer must get a clear view of you so you must sit up in front of the place where he will be standing. Never sit on the back, if you do not want to miss things out.
