Vinyl flooring tiles are well-liked because of the fact that they tend to be extremely adaptable when used for flooring and provides the client a number of colours, styles and patterns.  Furthermore, vinyl flooring tiles may either be glued down or be stuck to the floor using self adhesive which is merely a peel off and adhere method.   This makes installing the vinyl flooring tiles super easy for the Do-it-yourself person or novice as well as the specialists.  Nevertheless, self adhesive floor tiles can be problematic as following a period of time they can lose there sticking properties and be kicked up particularly within active regions of the property.  Self Adhesive vinyl tiles put down within a domestic area like a home is usual not a problem as the vinyl tiles may have little deterioration and ought to last 15 years which is the most common period of the warranty.  Nonetheless in an open public area such as a school it can be much more practical to have glued down vinyl flooring tiles.

Why Use Garage Flooring

Posted by Kandice,

A popular garage flooring is epoxy. You can get epoxies in different colors and textures to create an aesthetic appeal. You can also use a clear if you are just trying to protect the floor. Epoxies prevent staining and are fairly easy to apply by rolling them on. Typically you will need to prepare your floor first by cleaning it with a pressure washer. Some also suggest that you etch the floor first with a gel acid. That will allow the epoxy to stick to the surface better. You will also need to fill in any cracks and holes. The epoxy comes in two parts that you will mix together prior to rolling it on. Try to avoid buying the epoxy kits from home improvement stores as they are not as good of quality.

If you aren’t looking to spend a lot of money, you could also use garage floor paint. The paint will help protect it from staining but it isn’t the most durable of options. Paint will chip if you drop a hard object on it and over time will will most likely need to be redone.

New Floors – Two Options For The Finish

Posted by admin · Leave a Comment

When you are going to refinish the floor to get the new floors you have two options before you to use the finish that is oil based or the finish that is water based. The colors for the oil-based finish come in semi-gloss, satin and gloss. If you have the hardwood floor the best color would be to use the satin, as it is very helpful in bringing out the natural glow of the hardwood and it can also hide any flaws in the hardwood. But, if you were fond of the traditional glow of the wood then it would be good to use the oil-based finish that provides the amber look. But the water-based finish is popular for its quick drying quality

We went for a brand new vented gas fuelled fireplace

After months of redecoration of our home and much deliberation me and my wife finally decided to opt for a Vented Gas Fireplace. The reason we chose this is primarily because of the safety reasons bearing in mind the kids and secondly Ventless gas fireplaces can cause a real headache and hassle over time. If you see your new fireplace as an investment then it’s definately worth spending the extra cash on something that will last long and make your own property raised in value rather than a potential concern due to the concerns over ventless gas fireplaces safety. I also think that they just look a lot prettyer with the natural red/orangey flame as opposed to the blue ‘lighter fuel’ style of the ventless fireplaces.

New Floors – Know How To Use The Sanders

The very first thing that you need to know before refinishing your older floor to give it a look of the new floors is to learn how you can run the sander. If you know how to use the sander smoothly there would be no problem at all in stripping the floor. Don’t think it is hard to use the sanders. On the contrary it is easy to use the sanders. The only thing you will have to be careful about that never stop the sanders at a particular point for long otherwise you can either burn or dent your floor. So, keep the sanders moving all around all the time. If you take this precaution, it would be very easy for you to use the sanders

Rubber Flooring Tiles For The Garage

Posted by Syble,

Garages have traditionally had plain concrete floors, often due to the fact that other types of flooring didn’t hold up well to the wear and tear from parking cars on it. Rubber flooring tiles have become popular in recent years, however, as a way to give your garage a more finished look, as well as making the floor easier to clean from spills such as oil or other household liquids. These rubber tiles are quite durable, and are available in many different styles and colors, so you can give your garage more of a personality than plain old cement would give it.

Bathroom Shower Stalls

As part of our upcoming bathroom renovations, we’re looking at updating the bathroom shower stalls in two of our bathrooms. One of the two has had a lot of use over the last 25 years, and has definitely seen better days. The other is almost like new, but we’re thinking if one is replaced it might be best to match it in the other bathroom, to keep the overall look of the house consistent. I can’t believe some of the wacky shower systems that are out there now! These things can cost as much as a new car, with shower heads everywhere and even some that are made to feel like rain. What happened to the days of a simple fixed shower head, with the only real option being whether or not it detached from the mount? These fancy new shower heads seem like they would use a ton of water, and I’m not convinced they get you any cleaner. I guess if you want the real “spa experience” they might be worth it, but it seems like a giant waste to me.

I Get Up Every Morning and I am No Longer Sneezing

If you suffer from allergies, then you should try this. I had great results when I went on the internet and shopped at the online store. I looked under Air Purifier Types And Uses, to find the best prices and value. I ended up purchasing the hunter air purifier and I love it. I feel great every morning when I get up and I am no longer sneezing. It has made a huge impact on my life; I am no longer looking for a box of facial tissue. This device is incredible and I wish someone would have told me about years ago.

Maintenance free plastic sheds

Plastic sheds are typically made of polyethylene plastic but also have metal supports and trusses. Good quality plastic sheds can withstand both impacts and UV light damage. Plastic sheds have high headroom and wide door openings. These sheds come in a variety of colors and the designs of these sheds work to optimize the space contained within while preserving the basic storage needs of the buyer. Plastic sheds are much easier to assemble than metal ones and they are maintenance free. These sheds also don’t need regular painting or other treatment, so maintaining one is much cheaper than a wooden or metal one.

How Good Is A Cord Of Maple Firewood?

Posted by Tiffanie,

Where I live, in Vermont, there are a lot of maple trees that get cut down for firewood. So, just how good is a cord of maple firewood? ? Experience says it is quite good, just below oak. A little closer examination reveals that it also depends on the type of maple (and oak, as well).

Surprisingly, sugar maple has the same rating as red oak. Red maple is only slightly better than the various types of pine. Maple has other local names, but a little experience using it as a firewood will quickly tell you if it gives off a lot of heat and lasts a long time.

Really, the test is just how well it works for you in your stove. In my Jotul cast iron stove maple does quite well. I would gladly use it exclusively. Not only does it burn well, but it is easy to cut and split.

Randy Hough has a website: http://bestwoodheat.com that talks about a firewood cord and how it relates to your woodstove.

I Love A Bed Pillow Top

I had the same bed for so many years that I had sort of forgotten how nice it would be to get a new one. A trip to the mattress store showed me that there are much nicer beds out there than the old one I have been sleeping on for what seems like forever. I decided that a bed pillow top would be just the thing to give me a nice soft and cushy experience that would let me fall asleep naturally and with a nice cozy feeling each night. I am so glad those are an option for me now.
