Why Use Garage Flooring

A popular garage flooring is epoxy. You can get epoxies in different colors and textures to create an aesthetic appeal. You can also use a clear if you are just trying to protect the floor. Epoxies prevent staining and are fairly easy to apply by rolling them on. Typically you will need to prepare your floor first by cleaning it with a pressure washer. Some also suggest that you etch the floor first with a gel acid. That will allow the epoxy to stick to the surface better. You will also need to fill in any cracks and holes. The epoxy comes in two parts that you will mix together prior to rolling it on. Try to avoid buying the epoxy kits from home improvement stores as they are not as good of quality.

If you aren’t looking to spend a lot of money, you could also use garage floor paint. The paint will help protect it from staining but it isn’t the most durable of options. Paint will chip if you drop a hard object on it and over time will will most likely need to be redone.
